The NAMM Show: The Music Begins Here

The NAMM Show: The Music Begins Here

Mark your calendars! The 2024 NAMM Show will be held January 25–28. Thousands of brands from across music, sound and entertainment technology have already signed up, and with hundreds of concerts, special events and education sessions, endless opportunities await! Registration begins August 30th, so start planning your travel today, and join attendees from 120+ countries for this celebration only SoCal can offer.

If you haven’t been, the show isn’t your typical industry event. But then again, the music business isn’t your typical business! As diverse as music itself, NAMM brings together the worlds of manufacturers, retailers, and creators. And with roots dating back to 1901, the event has evolved into a global gathering that Jamie Thompson from beyerdynamic calls “the Superbowl of the MI Industry.”

NAMM’s where deals get done, and tastemakers get hands-on with legendary and innovative gear. New connections are fostered, market research is developed, and innovations spark new creativity. It serves as the hub for manufacturers to unveil their latest products and share their timeless creations, ranging from musical instruments like guitars, pianos and synthesizers to technological developments like software plugins, immersive audio and AI tools. Media, social media influencers and retailers take note of this awesome gear, and propel brands from garage to global.

NAMM Show Pro Tips

The NAMM Show offers an unparalleled environment for networking and collaboration. But it’s such a big show — where should you start? First, register (starting August 30th!) and plan to attend for more than one day. Even with all four days in your schedule, there’s no way to see it all! And that’s where NAMM Show+ comes in. Available via desktop and mobile, you can plan your schedule like a pro, with special events, networking opportunities and cutting-edge education for all focuses of the music, sound and entertainment technology industries. Many of the education sessions will be available after the show, just in case you miss anything, want to review the bullet points, or share them with your team. The app will launch later this year, and  as a registered attendee, you’ll get all the updates you need to make the most of your time.

Next, reserve your hotel through NAMM’s official housing block for the best rates, verified reservations and flexible cancelation. Once January rolls around, pack some comfy shoes (and a bathing suit)  and get ready for an exciting time in Southern California.

Recently appointed spring 2023, NAMM President and CEO John Mlynczak, sat with former NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond.

NAMM Show vets know: You should never miss a Breakfast Session. And if you’re a NAMM member VIP,  you earn a special entry line to the NAMM Campus and early access to these NAMM keynote sessions, including first dibs on a warm breakfast buffet. So set your alarms to join these champions of our industry on day one, hear from thought leaders on days two and three, find the “Best in Show” on day four, and get inspired to take your business and playing to the next level.

From there, follow your NAMM Show+ schedule of events, bookmark exhibitors, check out social media for the latest celebrity sightings and signings, and explore the show floor. Be sure to leave room for the unexpected. You never know who you’ll run into or be jamming with!

After the show floor closes each day, the fun is just beginning, with concerts on the Grand Plaza stage and throughout select NAMM Campus hotels. So, grab a drink, meet up with friends new and old, and catch one of the hundreds of concerts throughout the four days.

And if you’re traveling from outside of SoCal, consider extending your trip. (We hear NAMM Show attendees can get great Disneyland discounts, and the beaches here are pretty nice… even in January!) Be sure to follow up with your new network via NAMM Show+ and stream any education sessions that you missed during all of the fun.
