Farewell to Brian Nunney
Music Instrument News is sad to announce the passing of Brian Nunney, a true legend in the history of The UK MI music scene and the legend that is Roland.
Brian Nunney was born in Cheltenham, England. After serving in the Royal Air Force for four years, he joined Littlewoods Department Store. When the company acquired a small music store, they asked Brian to manage it—an opportunity that led him into the music industry.
From there, Brian expanded his experience in music wholesaling and exporting. His career took a pivotal turn when he was invited to assist in the establishment of Roland UK. Working closely with Roland founder Mr. Ikutaro Kakehashi, Brian helped create a company that stayed true to the original vision and mission of Roland Corporation.
The joint venture that became Roland UK not only marked the beginning of a successful and growing enterprise, but also the start of a meaningful friendship between Brian and Mr. Kakehashi.
Music Instrument News extends its deepest sympathies to Brians family, friends and past colleagues.
