ISE 2018: Final attendance figures revealed

It was a record breaking year for the Amsterdam show

Attendance figures for the ISE 2018 show have been announced, revealing record breaking exhibitor and visitor numbers.

In what was a busy year for the show, which took place at the Amsterdam RAI from February 6-9, with the number of attendees up 8.6% year-on-year to 80,923, while it’s number of exhibitors also hit a record high of 1,296.

However, one particularly notable figure was the gender split at the event, with women accounting for just 11% of attendees.

Speaking to PSNEurope, ISE managing director Mike Blackman said that he believes that as the rest of the integrated systems sector diversifies, so too will the show’s audience.

“For ISE it is important that we attract qualified attendees for the AV and SI marketplace,” he commented. “We work hard to ensure that everyone that is part of this business is aware of our show and feel that they should be a part of it. As traditional barriers in AV change and more women enter the ‘channel’ then we expect to be able to welcome them to ISE.”

Elsewhere in the report, it was revealed that first time attendees were up significantly this year. Unsurprisingly, the highest number of new visitors came from Holland (23.10%), while 10.75% of new visitors came from Germany. The UK provided the third highest number for first time visitors, with 9.53% of newcomers hailing Britain.

These three countries also provided the highest total number of visitors by nation – 17,440 were domestic visitors, while 9,519 were from Germany and 9,490 from the UK.
