TASCAM releases Digital Microphone Adapter for Nikon
Until now, Nikon cameras could only receive external audio signals via an analogue connection. Now, with the Nikon Kit CA-XLR2d-N, Tascam is introducing another version of its XLR microphone adapter that transmits professional-quality sound digitally to the mirrorless Nikon ZR via its accessory shoe.
Superior sound quality, no synchronisation
According to Tascam, the CA-XLR2d was developed to bridge the gap between professional sound and modern video workflows. It is designed to deliver superior sound quality directly to the camera, eliminating the need for complex synchronisation tasks in post-production. Thanks to Tascam’s HDDA microphone preamplifiers, creatives can achieve clean, noise-free recordings with a wide dynamic range in a variety of film scenarios.
Professional features
With two XLR/TRS combo jacks and a mini jack, shotgun and condenser microphones can be used with the camera, as can lavalier microphones and line-level sources. The powerful A/D converters transmit the audio signal digitally via the accessory shoe and draw their power directly from the camera body – it couldn’t be more convenient. There is also a headphone output for monitoring, an integrated shock-absorbing microphone mount and an analogue output.
The CA-XLR2d gives content creators, documentary filmmakers and others the freedom to always choose the right microphone for the job. Processing functions such as auto level, low-cut filter and limiter help with even the most demanding tasks.
