Tool guitarist Adam Jones discusses Fear Inoculum on podcast debut
Tool guitarist Adam Jones has made his podcast debut on Talk Is Jericho, a series helmed by WWE legend and Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho. The engaging conversation covers ground on Fear Inoculum, Jones’ guitar influences and Tool’s formative years.
The pair first delved into Fear Inoculum, discussing fan anticipation of the album – which arrives in full on Friday – as well as the tracks’ interesting attributes. Jones also spoke about Tool’s beginnings, recounting his first meeting with singer Maynard James Keenan and how drummer Danny Carey joined the band.
Jones also dove deeper into his relationship with childhood friend Tom Morello. The Tool guitarist revealed that Morello’s mother was his homeroom teacher, and that both budding guitarists were inspired by 80s metal.
