Seymour Duncan adds Janick Gers signature Strat set to Iron Maiden pickup range
To celebrate one of heavy metal’s most influential band’s 50th anniversary, Seymour Duncan has launched a Janick Gers signature Strat pickup set and loaded pickguard with maiden coded collectible packaging.
The Janick Gers Signature Strat Set pairs a JB Jr. for Strat in the neck and bridge positions with a Hot Rails for Strat in the middle. Seymour Duncan says the combination delivers the lead tone and rhythm crunch Gers has brought to Iron Maiden’s live performances. It’s also available as a loaded pickguard.

The new set joins the existing Dave Murray signature Strat Set and Loaded Pickguard and the Steve Harris Signature P-Bass pickup. Seymour Duncan says the range captures the tones behind Maiden’s music across five decades, from Murray’s fluid lead playing to Harris’s aggressive low-end attack.
The Murray set uses Hot Rails for Strat in the neck and bridge positions with JB Jr. in the middle, the reverse of Ger’s layout. Harris’s signature P-Bass pickup is a medium-output design originally developed in Seymour Duncan’s Custom shop. It has hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets and is wax potted to reduce noise and it’s a drop-in replacement for the split-coil P-Bass pickups.
Every pickup set and loaded pickguard in the collection now ships in its own individually illustrated box. Each is a different take on the brand’s official artwork and features Eddie, Iron Maiden’s mascot. Seymour Duncan is pitching the boxes as collector’s pieces, marking more than five decades of the brand’s history.
