NAM compatibility is coming to the Fender Tone Master Pro

Fender has confirmed that Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) A2 compatibility is on the way to the Tone Master Pro, in what could be the modeller’s most significant update yet.
The news comes as Max Gutnik, Fender’s Chief Product Officer, addressed rumours circulating online in a post on the official Tone Master Pro Users forum. The post was later shared on Reddit, yet no release date has currently been announced.
Gutnik said Fender’s in-house team is testing the feature, with the company trying to bring it to market quickly without rushing it. He said the aim is to make the Tone Master Pro “an amazing platform to play NAM.”

According to Gutnik, NAM captures will sit in the signal chain just like any other ramp. They will also work with the pedal’s touchscreen and companion app and users will be able to give each capture its own graphic.
NAM A2 launched in June. It’s an open-source architecture that lets players capture their own gear, as well as browse amp, cab and pedal models made by brands and other users. Its developers describe it modestly as the most accurate and best-sounding amp modelling technology in history and it reportedly outperformed several leading rivals in a blind listening test.
Fender joins a growing list of manufacturers adopting the tech. Devices with NAM access, including Zoom’s new Neurig and the Blackstar BEAM Mini, can tap into thousands of professional and user-made tones through the TONE3000 platform and that library keeps expanding. Fender is also one of the first major modeller makers to commit to NAM A2, ahead of rivals such as Neural DPS, Line 6 and IK Multimedia.
NAM is unlikely to replace the amp models built into modellers entirely, but it significantly widens the tonal options of any unit that supports it.
The Tone Master Pro’s last major update arrived in December 2025. Fender’s decision to announce the NAM A2 feature before its ready suggests the company is keen to get ahead of the competition.
