Repair dent in Valentine neck

I’ve got a small ding in the neck of my Valentine. Usually I’d put a damp cloth over the spot and heat it with a soldering iron to repair it, but I wonder if that’s safe to do on an oiled and waxed neck? Anyone know if it’s ok?
