Charvel announces new signature for Henrick Danhage and a new sandblasted ash Pro Mod San Dimas Style 1
Charvel guitars has announced two electric guitar models to join its Pro-Mod range, equipped with DiMarzio and Seymour Duncan pickups and sporting some serious shred-focused hardware appointments.
Henrik Danhage Limited Edition Signature Pro-Mod So-Cal Style 1, Maple Fingerboard, White Relic
A signature model for the guitarist of Swedish prog-metal band Evergrey, this limited-edition guitar comes with a mix of classic and modern features. While there’s a distressed ash body, a reversed Strat-style headstock, and a bolt-on maple neck. There’s also a Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo and a single volume knob. This controls a Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 bridge humbucker and a DiMarzio Area 67 DP419CR single coil.
Other features include a 12-16-inch compound maple fretboard and a heel-mounted truss-rod adjustment wheel.
Lists for £1,519/€1,729
Pro-Mod San Dimas® Style 1 HH FR E Ash, Ebony Fingerboard, Neon Pink Ash
This latest addition to Charvel’s Pro-Mod series comes with a sandblasted swamp-ash finish (that’s become rather popular recently). The soft grain of the swamp ash is blasted away, then filled with a colour, in this case neon pink. Other appointments include a graphite-reinforced maple neck fitted with a 22-fret maple fretboard, a double-locking Floyd Rose Tremolo, a licensed Fender Stratocaster headstock.
In terms of electronics, things are as stripped-back as the finish, with two humbuckers (a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and a DiMarzio PAF Pro DP151 in the neck) controlled by a push-pull volume a master tone, and a three-position blade switch. The middle position, depending on whether you’ve engaged the coil-split, is either the outer or inner coils of the two pickups.
Lists for £1,049/€1,189
