Eric Clapton announces new US tour dates for September 2021, Jimmie Vaughan to support
Eric Clapton has announced a new set of live dates in the US for 2021, taking place across September.

Lending support on the dates will be Jimmie Vaughan, the brother of the late Stevie Ray Vaughan. Clapton’s band for the dates will include Doyle Bramhall II, Paul Carrack, Nathan East, Sonny Emory, Steve Gadd and Chris Stainton with Sharon White and Katie Kissoon on backing vocals.
The dates are to be Clapton’s only shows in 2021, following the postponement of his European tour to spring 2022 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Earlier today, Clapton appeared in a new video interview in which he shared his views on the coronavirus restrictions that have delayed his tours. He called the pandemic safety measures a “huge” professional setback, and criticised “propaganda” and “brainwashing” surrounding lockdown and vaccination.
He also seemed to repeat the false rumour that coronavirus vaccines affect fertility, and stated that he was not made aware of the possibility of vaccine-related side effects before he had the AstraZeneca jab twice.
