Gather round skaters – Fender and Palace Skateboards have just released a limited-edition Telecaster
Guitars and skate-culture go hand in hand; from grunge god Kurt Cobain’s ties to skating, to the punk and hardcore scene’s love of a half pipe, there’s always been an innate connection between juicy riffs and kickflips. To honour this timeless bond, Fender is set to release a limited-edition Telecaster with fashion brand Palace Skateboards.
You might be wondering – why Fender? Well, Fender has also weaselled its own way into skate-culture. The Strat has become a staple axe in punk, while Fender has also collaborated with skateboarding legends over the years. In 2014, Tony Salva worked with Fender on his White Lotus Sonoran SCE signature acoustic, while skateboarder Paul Rodriguez also discussed his love of Fender guitars on Don’t Quit Your Day Dream in 2023.

So, it’s safe to say the Fender and skating crossover it well-earned. With that in mind, let’s dig into the Palace Fender Telecaster – which, right off the bat, boasts a trippy rave-inspired graphic. It’s a mix of Matrix-y gridwork and heat vision that feels incredibly 90s, reminiscent of the Dreamscape rave scene.
On the back, you’ll find the classic Palace logo and Fender branding. The guitar also comes with a co-branded guitar strap and matching pick.
In terms of the build, it’s reliably sturdy, with a C neck built to handle the inevitable battering that comes as as custom at a skate punk and hardcore show. The silky satin urethane back should keep things comfortable, while the maple fingerboard and 22 medium-jumbo frets will ensure playing can be fast and fluid.

Inside, the guitar also boasts Player Series Alnico V Single-Coil Tele pickups, and there’s a 3-way blade switch and a a 6-saddle bridge. There are also ClassicGear tuners to keep yourself in tune.
Again, this collaboration comes as no surprise. Fender are constantly platforming hardcore and punk music – both Militarie Gun and Lambrini Girls have been picked out as Fender’s Next Class artists, with both bands proudly using Fenders. And, while Nirvana floated in a more grunge realm, Nevermind’s punk ethos infiltrated the punk scene – an album that famously saw Cobain using Fedner Strats and his famous sunburst Jaguar.
The collaborative guitar is available exclusively through Palace, both in person and online. Head to Palace Skateboards to find out more.
