Geordie Greep, formerly of Black Midi, cancels three US tour dates following sexual misconduct allegation

Geordie Greep, former frontman of the now defunct London experimental rock band Black Midi, has cancelled three US shows on his North American tour, after denying an allegation of sexual misconduct during a recent show in Vancouver.
NME reported on Sunday that a total of five shows had been cancelled: in Boise (9 Oct), Salt Lake City (10 Oct), Boulder (12 Oct), Denver (13 Oct) and Omaha (14 Oct). But as of the time of writing, only the first three of those shows were cancelled, with tickets for the Denver and Omaha shows on 13 and 14 October, plus a date in Des Moines, Iowa on 15 October, still available on Greep’s website.

Greep has not issued a public statement about the cancellations, however they follow his October 8 show at The Pearl in Vancouver.
Before the gig began, an attendee reportedly handed out flyers reading “Geordie Greep A Rapist” and “You know what you did this morning Oct 8th”, apparently referring to an incident that happened earlier that day. The flyers gave no further detail of the allegation.
Greep went on stage alone and addressed the crowd directly. He explained that he had been out at bars with members of his touring party the night before where they met some people and ended up at a late house party. There, he said, he misread a situation and “got the wrong end of the stick with someone that was there”. He said he apologised immediately and described the episode as a “complete misunderstanding on my part”.
“I would never rape a woman. I’m not a rapist,” he told the audience.
Greep said he had not wanted to pressure his bandmates into playing given the circumstances and told the audience they were free to ask for refunds or leave.
“I just wanted to be transparent with you about what happened,” he said. “I’m very, very, very sorry; I made someone uncomfortable without meaning to. It’s not a good thing, it’s not good.”
He went on to perform a shortened solo set in which he said all proceeds from the show would be donated to an anti-violence organisation in British Columbia.

Greep launched his solo career after Black Midi announced an indefinite split in 2024, releasing his debut album, The New Sound, later that year.
Earlier this year, former Black Midi guitarist Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin died aged 26 following a “long battle with his mental health”.
