The guitar is a re-creation of the bluesman’s instrument of choice: the Gibson ES-330. While 330 models may look similar to the more popular 335s, there are key differences, such as a hollow-body build and P-90 pickups in lieu of humbuckers.
The Slim Harpo “Lovell” ES-330’s body construction involves three-ply maple-poplar-maple with spruce bracing. Its mahogany neck features a rounded C profile and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with small block inlays.
For electronics, there’s a pair of Dogear P-90 pickups with hand-wired controls and Orange Drop capacitors for vintage accuracy. Other hardware appointments include an ABR-1 bridge with Trapeze tailpiece, white button vintage deluxe tuners and a Graph Tech nut.
The guitar’s custom “Lovell” logo, found at the back of its headstock, pays tribute to Slim Harpo’s wife, Lovell Moore, who was also his manager and the co-writer of a few of his biggest hits.
Each instrument ships with a hardshell case and case candy, including a replica business card for Slim Harpo And His King Bees, a vintage reissue guitar strap and a Gibson multi-tool.

Harpo, who died in 1970 from a heart attack aged just 46, was a pioneer of the swamp blues style. Born in Louisiana as James Isaac Moore, the musician influenced the likes of The Moody Blues, Rolling Stones and Hank Williams, Jr.
The Gibson Slim Harpo “Lovell” ES-330 is available Vintage Sunset Burst for $2,999.
