Gibson partners up with Tesla’s Frank Hannon for Love Dove acoustic
Gibson has partnered up with Tesla’s Frank Hannon to announce the guitarist’s first signature model, the Frank Hannon Love Dove. This acoustic-electric is based on Hannon’s own ‘70s Gibson Dove, which he used on the recordings of What You Give, Stir It Up and on the intro of the ballad, Love Song.
The instrument brings together a thermally aged Sitka spruce top to maple back and sides. It sports a three-piece maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, adorned with mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays.
The instrument also features some ornate details with its ‘70s era Dove bridge with scalloped wings, decorated with mother-of-pearl wing inlays, a hand-engraved and painted Dove pickguard and a truss cover displaying the word Love, engraved in Hannon’s handwriting.
Other appointments include an LR Baggs VTC undersaddle pickup and Grover keystone tuning machines.
The Gibson Frank Hannon Love Dove comes in a Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish and is completed with an inside label signed by Hannon. The guitar, together with its hardshell case is priced at $5,349.
