Ibanez unveils catalogue for 2021, including new Paul Gilbert signature

Ibanezff, along with a few other new models for 2021 has announced a new signature electric for Paul Gilbert, the FRM300.
The guitar, which bears angular Fireman shape, comes finished in a gloss purple, with chrome hardware and a black pickguard. Loaded into the okoume body is a triplet of mini-humbuckers, chosen and coil-split with a five-way blade selector switch and tamed with a single volume and tone, The set neck is maple, topped with a bound ebony fretboard and 22 narrow/tall frets.
The specific mini-humbuckers loaded in the guitar are DiMarzio PG-13s, Paul Gilbert’s signature pickup. They’re wound for a balance of bite and clarity, the latter of which can be upped with the aforementioned coil-splitting.
The hardware on show includes a Graph-tech nut, an Ibanez Gibraltar Performer bridge and a slotted Quick Change III tailpiece, which allows strings to be quickly removed via the top of the bridge rather than have their whole length threaded through.
Ibanez’s full 2021 includes a new seven-string signature for Martin Miller, a new 24-fret signature for Paul Waggoner, and a host of updates to the RG, RGD, RGA AZ, AR, miKro and Gio ranges. Find out more here.
