“Let’s keep it classy”: Trivium’s Matt Heafy urges fans to cool it down after Bullet For My Valentine pull out of co-headline tour

Bullet For My Valentine’s joint tour with Trivium – which sees both bands performing their landmark 2005 albums, The Poison and Ascendancy, in their entirety – was one of the most anticipated metal tours in recent memory.
But as both groups near the end of the tour’s North America leg, BFMV frontman Matt Tuck has pulled the plug on Bullet’s involvement, according to Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto.

The tour was scheduled to continue throughout 2025, hitting continents including South America and Australia, but those dates appear to have been scrapped, according to Loudwire.
After Trivium shared an updated tour poster seemingly confirming the cancellation of most of the remaining dates, bassist Paolo Gregoletto said in a livestream: “Matt Tuck didn’t want to do it, after we had planned it, after stuff was already in the works – don’t know why.
“I think it would have been amazing. I think The Poison is a great album. I think the two records pair very well together. And I think it would have been nice to give everyone around the world a chance to see the two together.”

Last leg of Poison/Ascendancy tour… byu/avr055 inTrivium

Now, Trivium frontman Matt Heafy has made a statement, apparently attempting to put an end to the backlash aimed at Bullet For My Valentine as a result of the cancelled tour. He says Tuck and co are prioritising the making of their next studio album, instead.
“The tour’s been amazing – it’s been truly wonderful,” he says. “There was an initial plan, and plans changed. And you know us; we wanna be everywhere non-stop and go-go-go. And we’ll happily play any time, anywhere, any place. And they’ve got other plans due to a record. So I respect that. I respect the fact that things change.”
He goes on: “I think we definitely need to – all of us – let’s pull back on the negative stuff. Let’s go back to remembering what we all love. And that’s loving bands and loving music. Sometimes plans change, and sometimes that causes headaches and disagreements.
“It’s like anything in life. It’s like a relationship. It’s like with your family. It’s like with your co-workers. It’s like any of that stuff. So, let’s pull back on all that stuff. Let’s keep it classy. Keep it friendly.”

Bullet For My Valentine have also since made a statement on social media about the end of the tour, writing: “The four of us collectively feel that the time is right for us to divert our full attention towards the next chapter of Bullet For My Valentine.
“We can’t wait to get back in the studio later this summer and finish what we promise you is our best album to date. To go along with this, we are already starting to make plans for the 2026 & 2027 touring cycles, hitting every corner.”
