Listen: Pink Floyd’s remix of 1987’s Sorrow
Pink Floyd have released a remixed version of their 1987 track Sorrow which will appear in their upcoming box set The Later Years. Have a listen below:
Sorrow, which was the final track on Pink Floyd’s A Momentary Lapse Of Reason album, is a highlight of the forthcoming 16-disc compilation set. The Later Years will be the band’s first release presented in 5.1, and features additional contributions from late keyboardist Richard Wright being restored, alongside newly recorded drum tracks from drummer Nick Mason.
The Later Years focuses on Pink Floyd music post-Roger Waters. It’ll include the David Gilmour-led band’s studio LPs, live albums, concert films, unreleased rarities, live performances, 13 hours of unreleased material and an early version of their 1994 track High Hopes.
Recently, Pink Floyd released the screen film that accompanied Money on their 1994 tour (the concert film is included in The Later Years).
Gilmour’s black Strat also made the news recently because his beloved black Strat became the most expensive guitar ever sold at auction – $3,975,00 at the David Gilmour Guitar Collection auction.
The Later Years will be released on 13 December. A smaller version containing highlights from the box set will be released on 29 November.
