Listen to Foals’ new song, Into The Surf
Foals have dropped a third single, Into The Surf, from their forthcoming album.
The track follows the recently released Black Bull and The Runner, and is set to appear on Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2. The album, which is the band’s second of 2019, arrives on 18 October.
Guitarist and frontman Yannis Philippakis recently told Guitar.com that the LP marks another step in the band’s evolution from indie-rock darlings to guitar experimentalists. And although this slow-burning tune may not suggest it, the group claim the album is their most ferocious yet and laden with big guitar hooks.
“There’s a kind of insatiable appetite to try to explore what the five of us are capable of without remaining in the same space,” he said. “I think it’s necessary for bands to evolve like that.”
Foals were also nominated for this year’s Mercury Prize, but lost out to rapper Dave and his album Psychodrama.
