Metallica’s S&M2 to return to cinemas across the world

Metallica’s S&M2 concert film will return to cinema screens across the world on 30 October. The announcement comes after the film pulled in a record $5.5 million at the box office in its initial one-night-only worldwide screening on 9 October.
The show celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the first S&M concert, where the thrash band joined with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra to record a live album and concert film. S&M2 saw the band reunited with the orchestra in the San Francisco Chase Centre, performing with their signature circular-stage setup.
The 9 October screening of the film took place over in over 3,700 cinemas across the world, and given the enormous success of the event, it’s no surprise that Trafalgar Releasing is giving the film a second worldwide screening.
Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing, said of the film: “The S&M2 shows illustrated the immense power of the iconic collaboration between Metallica and San Francisco Symphony, from the critical and audience acclaim, to the box office results in cinemas worldwide, this film truly exemplifies the power of bringing fans together around the world via the big screen.”
