PRS has appointed its first-ever CEO – here’s how it will affect the brand
PRS has appointed a CEO for the first time in its history: Jack Higginbotham, formerly the guitar giant’s Chief Operating Officer.
As for the way the company operates, it seems business will continue to function as normal, with Higginbotham overseeing day-to-day business operations, and Managing General Partner Paul Reed Smith – whom the company is named after – continuing to lead guitar development.
PRS says Jack Higginbotham will regularly travel around the globe to strengthen manufacturing processes, dealer relationships, vendor connections, and “every aspect” of PRS Guitars.

Jack Higginbotham was an obvious candidate for the company’s first-ever CEO. A 41-year veteran of the guitar brand since its founding in 1985, he’s worked across many different departments, from his first job in the woodshop, to operations management, purchasing, sales, customer service, marketing, artist relations, and as president for 15 years.
“Jack Higginbotham has been a leader with PRS since the beginning,” says Paul Reed Smith. “He is deeply deserving of this role. I look forward to continuing our close relationship building and selling guitars and amps for the world.”
