Revv’s D20 amplifier blends all-tube tone with Two notes’ Torpedo modelling

Revv has unveiled D20, an all-tube amplifier touted as the first of its kind to offer built-in emulations from Two notes’ Torpedo.
With the latter technology, you’ll have access to Two notes’ reactive loads and virtual cabinets, augmenting the 20-watter’s primary tube tones. Here are the details:
All-tube design and modelling
This lunchbox-sized amp is voiced for clean, driven tones jointly developed by Revv and session guitarists from Nashville. These tonal flavours are shaped by two 6V6 power tubes and two 12AX7 preamp tubes.
The D20 also boasts Two notes’ reactive load and virtual cabinet emulations. The former affords you an organic feel when going cab-less through interfaces, headphones or direct to front of house. The virtual cab options, on the other hand, comprise six pre-loaded types that can be selected by a front knob. You can also cycle through a maximum of 128 virtual cabs with MIDI.
Controls

Besides its virtual cab selector, the D20 also features a three-band EQ, master volume and gain knobs. Gain has a push/pull function that unlocks a crunchier voicing, according to Revv.
Buttons onboard the amp include a wattage selector – that toggles between 20- and four-watts – and a pre/post selector. The latter control, deployed in reactive load direct mode, lets you access Two notes’ power amp simulation. With this option, you’ll be able to swap out the amp’s power tubes for virtual counterparts – like EL84s – and change the amp’s overall sound and feel.
Rear connectivity

Round the amp’s back, you’ll find a range of connectivity options. These include USB out, a balanced XLR direct out, a buffered series FX Loop, a speaker jack configurable to four- or eight-ohms and a button to toggle between internal or speaker loads.
