Winter NAMM 2019 Roundup: Sonor

Sonor has revitalised its long standing ‘Lite’series, the adevnt of which can be traced back to 1983 when the German dum maker launched its Sonorlite series. In 1988 came HiLite and then in 2000 the Delite series, which was finally replaced in 2012 by the ProLite series.

Sonor says: ‘Unchanged remains the characteristic sound of the Vintage Maple Shell and the high-quality, elegant shell hardware, which differs only slightly from our custom flagship line SQ² and thus represents the pinnacle of SONOR drum construction art in series production.

‘However, the adjustments in the ProLite series are not just cosmetic, although the 3 new, high-quality veneer finishes are the most obvious changes. Especially the shell sizes and set configurations meet the requirements of a young, demanding generation of drummers’.

ProLites now come in three new finishes: Elder Tree, Fiery Red and Snow Tiger and there are new shell sizes, as follows:

PL 320: 20“x16“ BD, 12“x8“ TT, 14“x14“ FT

PL 322: 22”x16” BD, 12”x8” TT, 16”x16” FT

All matching single drums are available separately. Bass drums can be supplied with or without mount.
