4 cable head setup issue
Hi there,
I just bought a G System, read the manual and tried a basic 4 cable setup. I’m using it with a laney irt studio.
I correctly connected my gear with the following :
guitar -> input instrument
Insert send -> amp input
amp loop fx send -> insert return
GS output -> amp loop fx return
In the utility menu, I locked the insert on.
I set up the levels and I have some sound. Everything is OK except the following :
Switching my amp channel (with the amp footswitch, I don’t have the correct cable now to use relays) or changing my amps settings have absolutely no effect on my sound. So I can’t use the distortion of my amp neither use the eq and volumes and I don’t understand why.
If I understand correctly (but obviously I don’t), the G System treat the signal of my guitar, send it to the pre-amp of my amp – where the signal should be distorded if I’m on the rythm or lead channel – then it return the signal to the GS (and I don’t know what’s going on there) before send it back to the fx return of my amp to be treated by the power amp.
What am I missing ?
