Longer Scale or Multi-scale Music Man JP 7 and Majesty 7

Before the 2010s, many progressive metal bands used Music Man JP series guitars. But these days, I see brands like Kiesel, Stranberg and Mayones more often in prog metal scenes.

I believe this is because the 25.5 inch scale length does not meet the needs of modern guitarists. Moreover, the 7th string comes with only 0.056 thickness from the factory and if you use even a little thicker string, you start to have a lot of problems.
