NYNGD: New Year's New Guitar Days! NYNGD #2017-13

.
Welcome to Day 13 of my annual New Year’s New Guitar Days (NYNGD)!

Thanks for the kind words and comments on NYNGD #2017-12!

So… I blew it. The goal was to launch the final NYNGD masterpiece on New Year’s Eve. I didn’t make it because of a lot of other priorities, plus I have been a little under the weather. Which means we’ll roll out the final five guitars over the next few (five???) days.

Today’s NYNGD is “nothing special.” Just a stock Majesty Artisan in the lovely Rosso (red) finish. “So why is it one of the final NYNGD’s, Jeff? Why not front load that earlier in this year’s run?” Ah, a fair question, grasshopper, and one that I can answer.

As you guys might recall, I have a Majesty Artisan in the Marrone finish, which visually is the best of the Artisan finishes because the shield etching and different woods is totally visible, and of course the burst is gorgeous. And I also have an Majesty Artisan in the Viola (purple) finish. So what’s the big whoop about a Rosso Artisan? Well, visually, nothing more special than the Viola — it’s a lovely guitar.

But sonically, this one is… wow. You may be shocked that this has become my number one guitar these days. The one I grab 90% of the time when I need to play. It is AWESOME. The sound is amazing. It feels great. It looks great. But it makes me play better. Just a killer, killer guitar.

So THAT’S why this guitar is in the home stretch of this year’s NYNGD!

(Sorry there are fewer photos of this one — the color and matte finish are hard to photograph and since I’m under the weather I slacked off).

I’ll be back tomorrow with another NYNGD: New Year’s New Guitar Day!

Thanks for looking everyone!

(The back story in case you’re new to my NYNGD: For the past couple of years I’ve done a fun thing that most of you I think enjoyed, and I thought I would do it again this year. Every year, I am a slacker about keeping my Guitar Gallery up to date… So, as a fun holiday thing, let’s launch a guitar in the Guitar Gallery each day leading up to New Years Eve! In the past I’ve received PM’s about my collection and whether I play all of these guitars. 🙂 The same question came up during my NYNGD posts a few years ago and my answer was pretty detailed and well thought-out, so please check it out here!)

(Also, in case anybody gets any funny ideas — these guitars are not at my house. They are all in my very secure and alarmed studio facility. I usually only have two guitars floating around the house…)
