‘Learn, network, have fun’: AES Up Your Output 2018 is happening this weekend

The event takes place at Leeds Beckett University’s Headingley Campus on March 17-18

The 2018 AES (Audio Engineering Society) Up Your Output event takes place from March 17-18, and according to chair of the AES British Section Dr Mariana Lopez, it’s something that audio students can’t afford to miss.

Held at Leeds Beckett University’s Headingley Campus, Up Your Output 2018 is free to attend for AES student members (memberships cost around £36 per month) and provides a range of workshops, talks and networking opportunities for attendees to take full advantage of.

A series of workshops over the two days will allow students to gain hands-on experience of working in the venue’s recording studios and music labs, while a series of lectures will provide key industry insights from a number of acclaimed audio professionals.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided on both days.

Speaking to PSNEurope about the benefits Up Your Output offers AES students, Dr Lopez said: “Being an audio student is more than just attending lectures and practicals, its about seizing opportunities to learn about other related fields, meet professionals that may become mentors and finding out about the different paths that are open to you in the audio world. This is what Up your Output is about. Being a student is great in many ways, one of those being that you get lots of opportunities opening up to you from professionals with a passion to foster new talent! Join us, learn, network, have fun.”
