Reports suggest fans walk out of Black Crowes show after Chris Robinson shuts down “USA!” chant
The Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson found himself on the receiving end of some audience jeers when he called fans out for chanting “USA!” at one of the band’s recent shows.
As reported by TMZ, the incident occurred during the band’s Sunday night (31 May) set at Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, when their mascot – a black crow – appeared on the stage-side screens dressed in red, white and blue US-themed attire.
This prompted some audience members to begin chanting “USA! USA!” which provoked a response from the Crowes frontman.

He reportedly sarcastically thanked them “for the geography lesson”, and went on to question what they were “so proud of right now”.
As was perhaps expected given the climate of US politics right now, Robinson’s response drew boos from some audience members, and cheers from others.
“Some of us have real faith,” he told the crowd. “For those of you fucking booing us, some of us are not afraid. And we most assuredly are not fucking ignorant.”
According to some reports, the incident led to large swathes of fans leaving the show prematurely. Following the verbal jostling, the band continued with the remainder of their set, launching into She Talks to Angels and later concluding with an encore featuring a cover of the Rolling Stones’ Torn and Frayed.

All is amicable now, but Black Crowes brothers Chris and Rich Robinson have had a famously tumultuous past. Earlier this year, Rich claimed his relationship with his brother has become “night-and-day better” than it once was.
“It’s so much healthier,” he said. “Making records is so much cooler, Touring is so much better. We call and talk about the day-to-day shit… just stuff like brothers do, you know?”
