Eventide announces new standalone pedal for its MicroPitch delay algorithm
Eventide has announced a new guitar pedal, a standalone hardware version of its MicroPitch Delay.
The algorithm first appeared on the H910 and H949 multi-effects processors, and later on the H3000 Harmonizer. It features complex modulation and pitch-shifting on the repeats, with dual pitch-shift engines and fine-resolution detuning. New for the hardware version are two new envelope sources for the modulation.
The unit can store five directly-accessible presets, or up to 127 with a midi connection, enabled via either a TRS jack or a USB connection.
Thanks to the pedal’s stereo outputs, it can be used as anything from a subtle thicker to a massive ambient wash machine. Any range of parameters can also be mapped to an expression pedal, and extra-deep editing is available with the Eventide Device Manager software.
There are also multiple bypass options available for different signal chain needs, including buffered, relay, DSP+FX or kill dry modes. Similarly, a small switch on the back of the pedal allows for you to choose between guitar-level or line-level impedance modes.
