GTRS, a line of electric guitars with in-built effects powered by Mooer, announces plan for crowdfunding campaign

Guitar amp and effect brand Mooer has launched a new product line, GTRS. Set to be crowdfunded via IndieGogo, the range of products are centred around a line of electric guitars loaded with smart effects technology.

The product line will launch with one actual instrument, the S800. While full details aren’t available just yet, it’s described as “a complete, lightweight digital and analogue guitar system built from the ground up.” The guitar is fitted with the GTRS Intelligent Processor, designed in conjunction with Mooer, and while the full capabilities are yet to be revealed, it seems as though the unit will allow for onboard effects and amp-modelling, as well as on-the-fly switching and editing through the accompanying footswitch and app.
Also controlling the effects is a ‘super knob,’ a light-up control that allows for push-pull and rotary action to adjust effects without opening the app. Presumably, due to the digital nature of the onboard processing, the function of this super knob will be somewhat customisable.
The construction of the actual instrument consists of an American basswood body, and a satin-finished roasted Canadian maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. The SSH pickups are alnico, and controlled by a five-way switch.
You can find out more here at the GTRS product page, or in the introductory video below.
