Joyo’s new NASCAR is an old-fashioned bucket brigade delay pedal

Joyo, on top of recently announcing a fully-featured digital reverb pedal, has launched the NASCAR Delay.
Unlike the digital, multi-faceted Atmosphere the Nascar is an analogue, single-sound delay pedal. The circuitry is based off the BBD, or bucket brigade delay sound, a certain style of analogue delay that uses a series of capacitors to process and store an analogue signal – much like a series of buckets being filled and emptied. The BBD delay, initially designed to be a reliable, portable alternative to heavy, fragile tape delays, soon developed an identity of its own with pedals like EHX’s Memory Man and Boss’s DM-2.
The NASCAR’s controls are standard fare for delay pedals: Delay controls the time of the effect, Feedback controls the number of trails, and Mix controls the volume of the effect. The max delay time is 500ms. Like the atmosphere, the pedal features an illuminated trim and a brushed metal finish.

The NASCAR Delay lists for $58.99. Find out more at Joyoaudio.com.
