Single H in between sounds

I have one of the new SR5 Specials, single H and while playing around with the selector, realized that there is a tone combination between positions 1 and 2, and 2 and 3. Go to position 2, strike a not so you can hear the tone change and then move the selector towards the bridge. There will be a slight click and a volume increase. The end result is a really good slap tone and it’s different than the regular positions. I’m between 2 and neck, same thing, but it’s more of a nasally bridge type of tone that would be good for finger style funk / jazz bridge type of tones. I don’t remember this working on the previous single H with a selector, but it’s been awhile since I had a single H pickup. Does it work on the previous 9V electronics. I wonder if a 5-way switch could be wired to give those tones in a more repeatable manner?
