Cort launches the A5 Plus SC in a new non-multiscale edition
Cort has announced that it will release a non-multiscale version of its Artisan A5 Single-Cut bass guitar.
The launch comes with a new colour for the model, called Amber Open Pore – a smoky, caramel-esque finish showing off the intricate poplar burl top. Cort explains the decision to bring the bass back without the fanned frets, saying: “The A5 Plus SC’s predecessor and series counterpart was a bold foray into innovative modern bass concepts, specifically the single-cutaway body and multi-scale design, which results in tighter, more focused lower register sounds.
“These innovations were well received, but some players vocalized that they preferred a more traditional scale. Cort has answered the call with a non-multi-scale length on the A5 Plus SC.”
Image: CortThe five-string bass has a 34” scale-length, completed by a maple neck, which itself is reinforced by panga panga. The fretboard is also panga panga, while the aforementioned poplar burl sits on top of a swamp-ash body. Other appointments include 20:1 Hipshot Ultralite Tuners and Bartolini MK-1 pickups, driven by a Bartolini MK-1 preamp.
The Artisan A5 Single-Cut lists for $1,499.99, and ships with a case. Find out more at cortguitars.com.
