EVH is the product of Fender and the late Eddie Van Halen almost twenty years ago. Since his passing, his son Wolfgang Van Halen, and business partner Matt Bruck have taken over the reins.
The first of the newest products is the new additions to the 5150 series of amplifiers.
The 5150 Iconic® Series 60W 2X12 Combo and 5150 Iconic® Series 15W 1X10 Combo both feature two channels with an extra voicing. Each channel houses its own gain and volume controls, allowing for level-matching the volume when switching between the clean and high gain channels. The control panel also includes shared EQ (Low, Mid and High), global resonance and presence knobs to adjust the low-and high-end aspects of your tone and global reverb control.
The other features for the 15W 1X10 combo include a one-button footswitch, effects loop, dual parallel speaker output jacks and a ¼ power switch to reduce wattage, while the 60W 2X12 combo has a boost control which allows you to add another10 dB of foot-switchable volume to your tone and 8dB of front-end gain.
Both amps are available in Black and Ivory. The 15W 1X10 is $799.99, while the 60W 2X12 is $1,399.99.
As for the guitars, EVH has unveiled two Wolfgang Special guitars, and a Wolfgang standard.
The Wolfgang Special, Maple Fingerboard, and Wolfgang Special QM, Baked Maple Fingerboard have similar specs, but vary slightly on price. They both feature a basswood body with an arched top and a robust graphite-reinforced bolt-on quarter sawn necks in their respective woods. The neck is carved and rolled to Eddie Van Halen’s exacting specifications and features a hand-rubbed urethane back finish. The 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard has 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays. Truss rod adjustments have also been made easier due to a spoke wheel located at the base of the neck.
The Wolfgang Special is available in Satin Surf Green and Sonic Boom and will be available for $1,149.99, while the Wolfgang Special QM is available in Purple Burst, and is selling for $1,299.99.
Finally, the Wolfgang WG standard offers many of the same features as the special, but has a basswood body with a special “comfort cut” forearm contour. Its bolt on baked maple neck with graphite reinforcement rods fends against temperature changes, and features 22 jumbo frets. It is available in Absinthe Frost and Battleship Grey. It is selling for $749.99.
