Framus continues 3D trend with Diablo II Progressive X
Last month, Framus refreshed its Panthera Studio Supreme model with a 3D top and choice tonewoods. The German brand has now given a similar boutique treatment to the Diablo Progressive X, dressing it up as the new Diablo II Progressive X.
In terms of shape, the Diablo II is more angular as compared to its Panthera II cousin. Otherwise, both models share similar features such as a stunning 3D top and Plek’d fretwork. The Diablo II is also available in both Masterbuilt and Teambuilt versions.
The Diablo II Masterbuilt features an AAAA flamed maple top with a mahogany back, flamed maple neck and tigerstripe ebony. The more affordable Diablo II Teambuilt has a similar tonewood offering, with the exception of an AAA flamed maple top and a non-figured maple neck.
The Diablo II Progressive X Teambuilt modelBoth versions boast the same electronics: a Seymour Duncan SH-2N humbucker at the neck paired with a TB-4 Jeff Beck Trembucker at the bridge. These pups are wired to a five-way pickup selector as well as master volume and tone controls.
As for hardware, you’ll find the two versions anchored by a Floyd Rose vibrato bridge system. Both of them also sport Graph Tech locking machine heads with wooden knobs.
The Diablo II Progressive X Masterbuilt retails at €5,499, while the Teambuilt version retails at €2,769. More info at warwick.de.
