“It plays even better than it looks”: Jackson’s Scott Ian Signature King V gets a gorgeous Gloss Black and gold makeover

If looks could shred, Scott Ian’s updated Jackson Signature King V would already be melting faces. The Anthrax riff master has teamed up with Jackson once again to unveil a fresh take on his beloved KVXT model – now cloaked in a killer Gloss Black finish with striking gold hardware and an old-school Jackson logo to seal the deal.

Designed for power, speed, and stage-ready attitude, the new KVXT still boasts the heavy-duty build players expect. The guitar features a mahogany body, a one-piece, through-body maple neck, reinforced with graphite and a scarf joint, as well as a 12”-16” compound radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets and pearloid block inlays
Jackson’s high-output humbucking pickups deliver the crushing tone Ian’s fans know and love, complete with a no-nonsense control setup: a three-way toggle switch, single volume, and tone knobs – all in gold to match the guitar’s flashier accents and 3-ply black pickguard.
A TOM-style bridge with anchored tailpiece, meanwhile, ensures solid sustain and precise intonation for a more consistent playing experience.

“I just wanted something that really evoked precision,” says Ian of the new X-series model. “I just wanted it to look tight, and look great. The black and gold combination, I just hadn’t seen one or anything like this in a long time. That’s always the hardest thing, coming up with something new.”
“The colourway works amazing and of course the old-school Jackson logo – pretty much that’s the pièce de résistance. I love it! I love the way it came out, and it plays even better than it looks.”
Priced at £739/$799, the Jackson Signature King V KVXT is now available for purchase. Check out the guitar in action below.
