Yesterday (29 March), the band tweeted a cryptic 15-second teaser featuring the date “31 03”. It was set to the soundtrack of Only Tomorrow, a song from 2013’s m b v.
The clip also featured the colour palettes from the band’s previous studio albums, Isn’t Anything, Loveless and m b v. The link in its caption redirected fans to the band’s website to sign up for more information.

Fans who commented on the tweet have speculated the teaser means the band’s music will finally be made available on streaming services. Currently, only m b v is available to stream on Apple Music.
Other fans theorised that a reissue of Loveless, to celebrate its 30th anniversary this year, could be in the works. However, the teaser’s choice of soundtrack seems to clash with that theory.
Back in 2013, guitarist-vocalist Kevin Shields told Pitchfork that the band’s “next step” would be to write “an EP of all-new material”.
By 2018, the EP had seemed to turn into two EPs, according to Shields during an interview with NPR from the time.
“It’s really an EP but it’s a sprawling EP. I’m going to do a couple of them before I do an album,” he said. “I just want to mix it up a bit and get away from my ‘every 20 years and make an album and then tour and disappear for five years.’”
Should the Irish-English band’s music come to streaming platforms, it’s likely the long-awaited EPs will, too.
