Neural DSP releases the Fortin Cali Suite

Neural DSP has announced the new Fortin Cali Suite, a digital recreation of the Fortin Amplification 50W head.
The plugin, like the real deal, features three channels – a clean, OD1 and OD2. The two overdrive channels also have a tweakable ‘VIOLENCE’ stage, to increase their overall gain. And yes, if the word ‘violence’ in all-caps didn’t already give it away, this virtual amp is aimed at those who want some seriously heavy tones.
The bass knob of the amp’s 3-band EQ also has a trick up its sleeve – pull it out (virtually) to increase the saturation, gain and compression across all channels. Aside from the aforementioned ‘VIOLENCE’ switch, there are a few more 3-way toggle switches for fine-tuning your tones. The ‘Thump’ and the ‘Hair’ switches both use negative feedback to tweak the low-frequency and high-frequency interaction between the amp and the speakers respectively. On the lower settings, the amp’s power section saturates less, and the tone has a more scooped character.
Each channel also has a ‘Bright’ switch – providing a boost to the upper frequencies, which is rolled off as the gain is increased for minimal harshness.
Outside of the virtual amplifier, there’s also three Fortin pedal plugins included – the Grind, Zuul, and Hexdrive for driving the amp even harder. There’s also a fully-fledged cabsim section, with six virtual microphones and 125 IRs captured by Adam “Nolly” Getgood himself.
The Neural DSP Fortin Cali Suite has a 20% introductory discount until 1 June, listing for €79.20. After this, it will return to €99. Find out more over at neuraldsp.com.
