The Jack White and Jack Black collaboration is finally happening
Following years of speculation – and demand from the internet – it seems that the long awaited partnership of Jack White and Jack Black is forming.
Ideas of the pair forming a partnership has been widely touted since their respective emergence in the 1990s, with Jack Black finally confirming their newest endeavour during a recent Tenacious D show in Nashville, saying: “Jack White – we went over to his house today and recorded a brand new song.”
It’s as yet unclear whether White will feature on the track or if he has instead decided to lend his hand to Tenacious D’s production team. White regularly invites artists to to his home to record limited releases on his label, Third Man Records.
Reported by The Tennesean, Black’s comments come after he took his first selfie with The Raconteurs after the bands bumped into each other at Heathrow airport, following shows at All Points East and Wembley Arena respectively.
Collectively known as Jack Grey, Black and White first met at the 2006 MTV Video Awards but chose to not document the moment. White has previously jested that he didn’t know if “the space-time continuum could cope if Jack Black and Jack White meet and shake hands.”
The Raconteurs latest album, Help Us Stranger, was released in June. The fourth album from Tenacious D, Post-Apocalypto, was released in 2018.
