Watch the trailer for Bruce Springsteen’s upcoming Western Stars concert film

In June, Bruce Springsteen released his 19th studio album, Western Stars. A trailer for the album’s companion film has now been released, featuring The Boss’ live performance of the new record spliced with interviews and archival footage.
Springsteen directed Western Stars alongside Thom Zimny, who also directed the Netflix feature film, Springsteen On Broadway. Although the location of the film’s live performance is unknown, it’s said to take place in a century-old barn.
In addition to snippets from said performance, the trailer also includes introspective soundbites from the veteran rocker. “It’s easy to lose yourself or never find yourself,” Springsteen narrates. “The older you get, the heavier that package becomes that you haven’t sorted through, so you run. I’ve done a lot of that kind of running. I’ve spent 35 years trying to let go of the destructive parts of my character and I still have days where I struggle with it.”
Western Stars will be previewed at the Toronto Film Festival in September before hitting theatres in October. Watch the film’s trailer above.
