Spector’s Euro LT and Bolt basses arrive in the UK
New York-based company Spector is highly regarded for its boutique guitars and basses. Of note is the brand’s Euro bass series, which is hand-crafted in the Czech Republic using choice materials. Two of the Euro models – LT and Bolt – are now available in the UK, in four- and five-string configurations. Here’s an overview:
Euro LT
The Euro LT bass features a selection of premium tonewoods including a highly figured North American maple top and a weight-relieved European alder body. This instrument is also fitted with a three-piece maple neck and an ebony fingerboard with Spector’s signature Crown inlays.
In terms of electronics, Spector has opted for a pair of Bartolini custom-wound pickups and a custom-voiced Darkglass active preamp. These are designed for articulate, versatile tones, according to the brand.
The premium offering is topped off with gold hardware, Gotoh lightweight tuners, and a lightweight Spector locking bridge.
Available in four high-gloss finishes: Blue Fade, Red Fade, Tiger Eye and Violet Fade. Retails at £2,380 (four-string) and £2,470 (five-string).
Euro Bolt
As its name suggests, this bass’ highlight is a three-piece roasted maple bolt-on neck. It also features a European alder body as well as a roasted maple fingerboard with mother of pearl Crown inlays.
Elsewhere, this instrument has a similar pup configuration to the LT model, sporting an Aguilar DCB pickup set wired to an Aguilar OBP-2 active preamp. Both models differ slightly in the hardware category, with Bolt sporting an aluminium locking bridge and black hardware.
The Euro Bolt is available in two high-gloss finishes: Metallic Blue or Tobacco Sunburst. The latter option comes with a USA figured maple top.
Retails at £1,769 (four-string) and £1,869 (five-string).
